The recently passed Arizona Immigration bill has created quite a stir. On June 5, there will be a rally in support of SB1070, which makes it a crime to be present in the state of Arizona without the proper legal status. The law is not designed to be a “racist” law; however, many individuals – most of them from the immigrant community – think that it could open the door for racial profiling.
All that’s necessary to prove your legal status is a driver’s license or state issued photo ID. The police do not have to look over your visa paperwork or your passport to determine if you are legal or not. If you have successfully obtained a state ID or license, you have already proven your status.
In addition, police are prohibited from profiling someone solely because they “look” like an immigrant. Many people still think that this will occur. (taken from

Is the US CODE UNCONSTITUTIONAL?
US CODE TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part VIII > § 1325
§ 1325. Improper entry by alien
TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part VIII > § 1324a
§ 1324a. Unlawful employment of aliens
WE DO NOT NEED IMMIGRATION REFORM. WE NEED IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT. ENFORCE THE LAW.
We should treat immigrants like Mexico does:
At present, Article 67 of Mexico’s Population Law says, “Authorities, whether federal, state or municipal … are required to demand that foreigners prove their legal presence in the country, before attending to any issues.”
That would simplify things.
Operation Wetback was a 1954 operation by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to remove about one million illegal immigrants from the southwestern United States, focusing on Mexican nationals.
Simple question: What happens if someone jumps the fence and wanders around a gated community without an ID and a resident of the community calls the cops saying someone that doesn’t look like they belong here is roaming the streets? The cops arrive. They would ask the wanderer a few questions. If wanderer does not have a valid reason for being inside the gated community, the cops would escort them out, wouldn’t they? Isn’t a country, like the USA, a “gated community”, too?
This is my short comment posted under the article.
I read only few of the comments posted here. I would say I have to agree with what
TheRumpledOne and
Josh Barrietnos posted. FYI: I am not a racist. I don’t think they understand. They have laws, procedures, and paperwork. If they thought it was unneccessary, why would it have been created? Also, ‘illegal immigrants’ who are employed illegally gets paid under the table, meaning cash. What about us? We have to pay our taxes! For what? For the illegals to benefit from that? Don’t tell me that illegals pay taxes when they buy something. I know they do but we all know what I’m talking about. The IRS!
I’m not only talking about Hispanics here. Why does it always have to be about Hispanics when we’re talking about illegals? What if you saw a boat full of Asians? Would you not think suspicious of that? We have to put a stop to illegal immigrants! I know people that’s in the same nationality group as I am but I still want them to be deported. If they want to come here, come here legally. Also, if they came on a visitor’s visa, remember to leave before your visa expires. Don’t stay here and talk shit about the US government & laws. Go back to where you came from.
How do you feel about Arizona Immigration Law SB1070 2010?
I just read the comment that was posted above mine.
OK, so now let’s figure out the total costs for getting a green card. It’s $4,000+, plus $1,000, plus $475, plus $1,010.
All in all, the BASE COST is $6,485 to get a green card (as I said this will likely be more due to separate costs and fees for processing same). Now you know.
TO EVERYONE SHOUTING “DO IT LEGALLY!” Has anybody bothered to see what the peso is to the American dollar? 1 Mexican peso = 0.076767 U.S. dollars…one peso is about 7 cents here…anybody know who much the average worker gets paid in Mexico?…It’s about $5,000/YR to American’s $30,000/YR. So we say, here’s the process and we put it outside of their reach…classic.
Again, why does it always have to be about Mexicans? In another comment I read, they were writing about how they should be trying to better their own country instead of trying to take over the US. An average worker gets paid $5000/yr in Mexico while I was disqualified from unemployment benefits. I paid my taxes every year. I'm not on welfare or collecting foodstamps or getting benefits from WIC or Medi-Cal or SS. WTF?! Then now the government is crying how they don't have money.
I just read on
Wiki about AZ SB1070. I really don't have much interest in politics or SBs or HBs. I'm too busy trying to make ends meet and survive day-to-day. This
Arizona SB 1070 is also known as the "
Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act". Yes, it states clearly what it is. It's a Senate Bill made to support law enforcement and make our neighborhoods safe. What the people have to understand is that the law enforcement officers are not out there on the streets racial profiling everyone.
Read this:
The act makes it a state misdemeanor crime for an alien to be in Arizona without carrying registration documents required by federal law,[20] and obligates police to make an attempt, when practicable, to determine a person's immigration status if there is reasonable suspicion that the person is an illegal alien[21] during a police stop for some other offense.[22] Police may arrest a person if there is probable cause that the person is an alien not in possession of required registration documents;[20] a person arrested cannot be released without confirmation of the person's legal immigration status by the federal government pursuant to § 1373(c) of Title 8 of the United States Code.
Solution? Don't do anything suspicious! Not all illegals are criminals or bad people. But just because they have entered illegally, they are not welcomed. Would you welcome a stranger into your house if they sneaked into your house? No!
I strongly believe that all states should have this law, especially California.
A few of my friends and I believe that the only solution for all the problems is for the government to fall down and fail. Then they will try to build it right, starting from the right foundation and right people with the right minds.
Please don't take this blog post too personally. I don't know much about politics and hate politics. But I thought I'd post something about this since everyone's talking about it. Thank you!
