Busy busy busy...

Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

So busy... I can't wait for the 3-day weekend to come. Although I don't think I'm getting paid tomorrow nor do I have money right now. I am so broke! Vegas trip has been officially cancelled. I'm happy it has been cancelled. But still... It's a 3-day weekend and I don't have money or anything to do over the weekend. I should've gotten a rental car or something.

What are you doing over the 3-day weekend?
Is anyone going to Vegas?!
Did you know that Memorial Day was formerly known as "Decoration Day"?

I had a caramel latte in the morning and after lunch, I had my usual double caffe mocha. The barista at the coffee shop gave me a medium caramel latte as a complimentary saying "rainy day special". How generous! Well, I finished a few settlement demand letters. Now I have to work on another one and do major follow-up on all these files. I hate it when the adjusters don't return my phone calls! I need to type up a letter to send out with the release and the Medicare form so we can get the settlement check for the client. Then I have to type up another settlement demand letter. I've been working on the demand letter but it's taking me longer than I thought because these medical reports are so confusing and some are not even legible! I dislike doctor's handwriting. Well, I'm probably staying an hour over-time and then heading off to a car dealer so I can notarize an acknowledgment. I'm exhausted but I feel good. I'm busy with work and after my regular job as a legal assistant, I can make side money by notarizing!

Tomorrow is finally Friday! Yay! Now, back to work for me! Have a nice 3-day weekend!!!

JeA -Mia 迷兒

제아 "미아"

JeA -"Mia"
This song is an OST from the K-drama "Chuno (추노)". It is titled "미아" which means (迷兒) - a stray[lost, missing] child. It's not literally about a missing child. It's more like metaphorically her heart feels like a lost child and doesn't know where her heart should stray or go. Enjoy the Korean lyrics with the English translations I did!

사랑 ..사랑 .. 사랑..
Love... love... love...

사랑해서 아픈 사랑
Love that hurts because I love

시린 가슴안고 눈물 한잔 비워본다
I hold onto my achy heart and empty my tears

길 잃고 헤매이는 아이처럼 내마음 갈 곳 없어
Like a lost child searching their way, my heart has nowhere to go

곁에만 있어도 행복할텐대
I would be happy just to be beside you

그대는 자꾸만 멀어지나요
You keep drifting further away

나 이젠 어떤 꿈을 안고 사나요
What dream do I live with now?

여울저만가는 해 저녁 끝에 그대의 슬픔이 보여요
At the shallow end of the evening, I see your sadness

어디로 갈까요... 길을 잃어버린 나의 마음을...
Where to go... my heart has lost its path...

아파 ..아파..아파..
It hurts... it hurts... it hurts...

내사랑이 너무 아파
My love hurts so much

외면하려해도 미련하게 돌아본다
Like a fool, I keep looking back even when I try to avoid

한참을 소리내어 울어봐도 그대는 듣지못해
Even when I cry out loud for a long time, you can't hear

곁에만 있어도 행복할텐대
I would be happy just to be beside you

그대는 자꾸만 멀어지나요
You keep drifting further away

나 이젠 어떤 꿈을 안고 사나요
What dream do I live with now?

여울저만가는 해 저녁 끝에
At the shallow end of the evening,

그대의 슬픔이 보여요
I see your sadness

어디로 갈까요... 길을 잃어버린 나의 마음을..
Where to go... my heart has lost its path...

Knock, knock! Who's There? Depression...

I don't know. These days, I've been feeling very sad deep down inside. But I haven't been paying attention to that because I've been busy with work and tired after work. Then there's the NBA Play-Offs. But in the morning, when I'm at work, I have the music on. I usually try to select the slow songs to listen to. Maybe it's because I just got an email recently from a guy I used to like a lot. I knew that "we" would never happen. His parents are rich people in Korea and so he was not allowed to fall in love. He did but he was hurt since they wouldn't approve of anybody except one girl they had in mind. Just found out that he's busy and doing well. He did mention that he did get married as soon as he got to Korea. He's never coming back. It seemed to me that he really liked me too. But he did say that he will not let himself fall in love again. It'll just hurt everyone. I can't help but feel sorry for him. What kind of world or century does he live in that he has to be in an arranged marriage?! Surprisingly, I know a few people who are in an arranged marriage.

I know we're entitled to our own views and opinions about arranged marriages. Of course there are pros and cons. But same goes for marriages resulting from love. It's stated that the divorce rate for arranged marriages are lower. I think that's just because the people that can be forced into an arranged marriage can endure more and just live their life as it was given to them. But then there will be those few who don't want to disappoint their parents or family so they just live as if they are dead.

There are a lot of things going on my mind. I don't stop to think about it. I work all day and try to get myself so tired after work that I pass out. Then I get sick (physically). But right now, I think I am mentally ill. Things are so sad. When I look at my life and/or my past, it's sad. I keep holding onto dear hope but when will the day come?!

Little Tokyo

I went to Orochon Ramen for dinner with my friends. I can't say anything about their ramen because I only try a little bit of my friend's but never order my own. I just get the meat & veggie stir-fry. The rice that came with the stir-fry was dry and seemed old. So I tried the fried rice my friend got. That was too salty or too bland throughout. It wasn't mixed well. This place got more popular because it was on the Travel Channel's "Man vs Food" show. They have this really spicy ramen, the SPECIAL 2!!! You should try the regular 2 or 3 before you think about getting the special 1 or 2.

After dinner, we went to Starbucks on 2nd and Alameda Ave. We kicked it there for a while, drinking coffee, talking, and people-watching. LOL! It was fun. But we were all tired.

Today, I had 2 double caffe mocha from Essence Coffee and 1 tall white mocha from Starbucks. Wow... I'm still sleepy. Good night!

Sweet Tea Cup

OMG! So cute!!! I want this! I thought this was a mug with a lid but it turns out that it's an upside-down tea cup! They have so many cute stuff on their site.

You can buy it on ModCloth.

Hold the sugar, this mug is sweet as is! Enjoy an upside down 'cup-cake' of tea, coffee, or your favorite beverage of choice in this adorable mug, which doubles as decor when not in use. With a painted polka dot print, citrus slices to set it down with care, and a handle for help with hot drinks, save spending your 'star-bucks' for another day, and take some time to fill up this sweet ceramic cup instead!

Love Knows No Limit

Do you remember watching this video clip? Christian the Lion's reunion?! I remember. I remember shedding a tear while watching them reunite. But why is it so hard for us to find true love and true friendship? It seems like it's a mission impossible.

Monday after a CrAzY wEeKeNd

I took my daughter to the dentist on Saturday morning. omg... It took more than an hour to do an extraction. Why? Because it was her first time at the dentist and she kept crying that it hurt. But the dentist said that she didn't know the difference between pressure and pain. Idk... Well, her dad missed her after hearing about how much she cried so he picked her up early. Around 6pm on Saturday.

Coffee Intake on Saturday = I had an iced mocha from Paris Baquette and a regular sized iced white chocolate latte from Coffee Bean.

Well, on Saturday, my friends and I went to Yeo Woo Bi on Wilshire & Alexandria. It was a crazy night. The bill came out to $400 ($60 tip included), even when they took out the appetizers out of the bill! After that, they all came over to sober up at my friend's place. They stayed till 3-4am.

Sunday... I was so tired. My tonsillitis came back and I am in pain. Well, we had galbi-tang from Seoul Gomtang. For lunch, we had burgers from Umami Burgers. OMG! It was $10 per burger! Oh wow... We watched the NBA Play-offs. After that, we went to the swapmeet before we went to the Alley in DTLA. We went to the tattoo shop in Silverlake to get one of my tattoos but they were packed on appointments. So we went home. We had Chinese food from Chinatown Express. Then we went to Burbank AMC to watch "Iron Man 2" in IMAX. When we came home, it was almost midnight and I was exhausted!

About "Iron Man 2"... I only heard bad things about the movie so I wasn't really looking forward to watching it. I also heard that Iron Man only comes out only about 3 times during the entire 2hr 4min movie. Well, I think that is correct. I think Iron Man only comes out 3 times. But I still liked it! I'm glad I saw it.

Coffee Intake on Sunday = I had a venti iced white chocolate mocha w/ an extra shot and a tall coffee frapp from Starbucks.

Let's go, Lakers! Let's go!
Well, the Lakers are playing today against the Phoenix Suns in Phoenix, AZ. Game starts at 6pm PST. I'm so tired! I'm having hot flashes and dizzy spells! No, they're not hot flashes. I just have fevers on and off. Well, I drank 2 cups of double caffe mocha from Essence Coffee today.

Coffee Loving Umbrella?!

Try carrying your tall café latté in the rains! One hand full of your stuff, the other has an umbrella….get the drift? The solution is to get a functional Umbrella, like the one designed by Jung-Woo Lee. A convenient coffee-cup rim integrated into the handle solves the issue. I say cheers to more coffee and bring on the rains! (taken from Yanko Design)
Designer: Jung-Woo Lee for Ek Design

Really?! Are you kidding me? Oh wow... It retails at $54 at the YD Store. But would you get it? I wouldn't. I would just get a stopper and enjoy my coffee or whatever in my office or home. Why would I want to buy an umbrella that costs $54 just so that rain won't pour on the lid of my coffee cup?! Hmm... I see that EK Design is in Korea. Now I'm thinking that if you do live in a city or country that rains a lot, then this product will be appealing to the consumers.

Would you buy this Coffee Loving Umbrella?
Why or why not?

work... work... work........

Here's a photo of my desk. Oh wow... You see that?! You see the Red Bull with the red straw and a cup of double mocha?! Yup! That's what I need today. Caffeine!!! I'm so tired and sleepy. Thank goodness my friends postponed watching "Iron Man 2" to another day. We're just going to eat dinner at Seoul Garden in Ktown LA. Yay! Yummy!!! Now, back to work!

I Am A Happy Mother On Mother's Day

Here is the Mother's Day card from by daughter, which brings me to tears. I am so lucky to have such an angel-like daughter like her. I love you!!!

Front of Card
Back of Card

Inside of card...
"I AM"

I am smart and kind
I wonder if you are hurt when I'm at school
I hear you saying "Are you okay?" When I'm hurt
I see the kindness in your heart
I want you to stay alive forever and ever
I am smart and kind

I pretend you are my hero
I feel your love when you give me hugs and kisses
I touch your hand when I cross the street and I feel safe
I worry if you are in danger
I cry when I miss you
I am smart and kind

I understand when you sleep early because you're tired
I say "I love you" to you
I dream that I am in the clouds when I see you
I try to make you laugh when you're sad
I hope I see you in the cloudy heavenly sky
I am smart and kind

"YOU ARE"

You are the number one mom
You wonder how to make me happy
You hear my voice when you miss me
You see your gorgeous self in the mirror
You want the best for me
You are the number one mom

You pretend to be special but you'll always be special to me
You feel very smooth
You touch my cheeks and say I'm soft
You worry about me because you are kind
You cry when you have a difficult problem
You are loving and sweet

You understand me and my problems
You say kind things that make me smile
You dream of having a house and being rich
You try to teach me to be confident
You hope to raise me to be a courageous woman
You are the number one mom

Dear Mom

Just like Tiffany says in this video... It's been a long time since I've seen my mom. When I found out about this song, I wanted for her to hear it so badly. Lucky for Tiffany because she gets to sing this for her mom. This song brings me to tears. It's Mother's Day today. But I won't let the sadness ruin my day. I have my princess and she's trying her best to give me the best Mother's Day possible. Thank you, my lovely princess. I did have the best Mother's Day today! I love the card and the pen you made for me. I will try to be the best mom for you.

Something Outrageous and Blue

I just came back from a wedding. It was my co-worker's wedding. It was held at a hotel in Ktown LA. The dress was so pretty! If you want my honest opinion of the entire wedding experience, it would not sound pretty. But I wasn't there as a critic so I won't say anything. I was there to congratulate them.

After the wedding, I thought I would post something about weddings! The bride didn't do the "something old, something new, something blue" thingy.

Leave it to Betty Beauty to make a gal blush. The bridal kit ($15) comes with aqua dye and stencils (heart, xo) to coif your lady place for the big day.

Make your commitment short-term. Not your marriage, silly, your I Do Tattoo ($36). Temporary markings range from doves to Cupid to hearts.

You’re jumping in feet first, so you may as well make your shoes look good. Paint the bottoms of your favorite pair a shade of blue ($10).

4.29... Where were you?

I just read about the 1992 Los Angeles riots on Wikipedia after reading an article titled "Where were you on 4.29?" posted on KoreAm. Just like the author wrote, I, too, was very afraid of being Korean and I never felt more Korean. Where was I on 4/29/1992? It was a Wednesday so I guess I would've been at school or at home doing homework. I remember being in class and my classmates were teasing other by calling each other "looters". I didn't think it was funny.

I was born and raised in LA. I never left LA and am still living here in LA. While attending elementary school, there were plenty of Koreans. But when I went to junior high, I was 1 out of 2 Asians in the entire school. But by 9th grade, there were several more Koreans at the school but it wouldn't even total 20. I would say, the Asians wouldn't have even been 50 total. The majority were Caucasians, hispanics, and African-Americans. I attended a magnet school. The non-magnet students were mostly hispanics and African-Americans. The magnet students were mostly Caucasians, later were Asians and Caucasians. I was afraid in the morning, while waiting for the school bus and in the afternoon, while walking home after getting off at the school bus stop.

All I remember is that it was f*cked up. The cops and whatevers let the riot happen and once they saw that they were going to spread into Hancock Park and Beverly Hills, they stopped it. Why didn't they do anything? Because the riots were mainly in Koreatown and Korean owned businesses. Sad thing is, most Koreans did not have insurance. They had come to America and were on their way of achieving their "American Dream" and it was burnt to ashes, just like their business. But when I was doing insurance, it was easier for me to sell them insurance because I remind them of the riots. It's not only riots but it seems like that story alone convinces them that they need proper and adequate insurance.

Where were YOU on 4/29/1992?
Were you afraid of being a Korean?

Arizona Immigration Law SB1070 2010

The recently passed Arizona Immigration bill has created quite a stir. On June 5, there will be a rally in support of SB1070, which makes it a crime to be present in the state of Arizona without the proper legal status. The law is not designed to be a “racist” law; however, many individuals – most of them from the immigrant community – think that it could open the door for racial profiling.

All that’s necessary to prove your legal status is a driver’s license or state issued photo ID. The police do not have to look over your visa paperwork or your passport to determine if you are legal or not. If you have successfully obtained a state ID or license, you have already proven your status.
In addition, police are prohibited from profiling someone solely because they “look” like an immigrant. Many people still think that this will occur. (taken from CNM News Network)

(One of the comments posted under this article)

Is the US CODE UNCONSTITUTIONAL?
US CODE TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part VIII > § 1325
§ 1325. Improper entry by alien
TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part VIII > § 1324a
§ 1324a. Unlawful employment of aliens

WE DO NOT NEED IMMIGRATION REFORM. WE NEED IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT. ENFORCE THE LAW.
We should treat immigrants like Mexico does:
At present, Article 67 of Mexico’s Population Law says, “Authorities, whether federal, state or municipal … are required to demand that foreigners prove their legal presence in the country, before attending to any issues.”

That would simplify things.
Operation Wetback was a 1954 operation by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to remove about one million illegal immigrants from the southwestern United States, focusing on Mexican nationals.

Simple question: What happens if someone jumps the fence and wanders around a gated community without an ID and a resident of the community calls the cops saying someone that doesn’t look like they belong here is roaming the streets? The cops arrive. They would ask the wanderer a few questions. If wanderer does not have a valid reason for being inside the gated community, the cops would escort them out, wouldn’t they? Isn’t a country, like the USA, a “gated community”, too?

This is my short comment posted under the article.
I read only few of the comments posted here. I would say I have to agree with what TheRumpledOne and Josh Barrietnos posted. FYI: I am not a racist. I don’t think they understand. They have laws, procedures, and paperwork. If they thought it was unneccessary, why would it have been created? Also, ‘illegal immigrants’ who are employed illegally gets paid under the table, meaning cash. What about us? We have to pay our taxes! For what? For the illegals to benefit from that? Don’t tell me that illegals pay taxes when they buy something. I know they do but we all know what I’m talking about. The IRS!
I’m not only talking about Hispanics here. Why does it always have to be about Hispanics when we’re talking about illegals? What if you saw a boat full of Asians? Would you not think suspicious of that? We have to put a stop to illegal immigrants! I know people that’s in the same nationality group as I am but I still want them to be deported. If they want to come here, come here legally. Also, if they came on a visitor’s visa, remember to leave before your visa expires. Don’t stay here and talk shit about the US government & laws. Go back to where you came from.

How do you feel about Arizona Immigration Law SB1070 2010?

I just read the comment that was posted above mine.

OK, so now let’s figure out the total costs for getting a green card. It’s $4,000+, plus $1,000, plus $475, plus $1,010.
All in all, the BASE COST is $6,485 to get a green card (as I said this will likely be more due to separate costs and fees for processing same). Now you know.
TO EVERYONE SHOUTING “DO IT LEGALLY!” Has anybody bothered to see what the peso is to the American dollar? 1 Mexican peso = 0.076767 U.S. dollars…one peso is about 7 cents here…anybody know who much the average worker gets paid in Mexico?…It’s about $5,000/YR to American’s $30,000/YR. So we say, here’s the process and we put it outside of their reach…classic.

Again, why does it always have to be about Mexicans? In another comment I read, they were writing about how they should be trying to better their own country instead of trying to take over the US. An average worker gets paid $5000/yr in Mexico while I was disqualified from unemployment benefits. I paid my taxes every year. I'm not on welfare or collecting foodstamps or getting benefits from WIC or Medi-Cal or SS. WTF?! Then now the government is crying how they don't have money.

I just read on Wiki about AZ SB1070. I really don't have much interest in politics or SBs or HBs. I'm too busy trying to make ends meet and survive day-to-day. This Arizona SB 1070 is also known as the "Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act". Yes, it states clearly what it is. It's a Senate Bill made to support law enforcement and make our neighborhoods safe. What the people have to understand is that the law enforcement officers are not out there on the streets racial profiling everyone.

Read this:
The act makes it a state misdemeanor crime for an alien to be in Arizona without carrying registration documents required by federal law,[20] and obligates police to make an attempt, when practicable, to determine a person's immigration status if there is reasonable suspicion that the person is an illegal alien[21] during a police stop for some other offense.[22] Police may arrest a person if there is probable cause that the person is an alien not in possession of required registration documents;[20] a person arrested cannot be released without confirmation of the person's legal immigration status by the federal government pursuant to § 1373(c) of Title 8 of the United States Code.

Solution? Don't do anything suspicious! Not all illegals are criminals or bad people. But just because they have entered illegally, they are not welcomed. Would you welcome a stranger into your house if they sneaked into your house? No!

I strongly believe that all states should have this law, especially California.

A few of my friends and I believe that the only solution for all the problems is for the government to fall down and fail. Then they will try to build it right, starting from the right foundation and right people with the right minds.

Please don't take this blog post too personally. I don't know much about politics and hate politics. But I thought I'd post something about this since everyone's talking about it. Thank you!

My Desk

This is a picture taken of my desk on Tuesday (5/4/10).

This is a picture of my desk today...
Do you see my cup of double caffe mocha?! ^^*

I guess I can't complain about the amount of workload. Why?! Because I don't want to. At times, I do feel overwhelmed and stupid. But this is how I'm going to learn fast! Yay! Also, this means that they trust me with the work. I was told that I have an excellent skill in writing settlement demand letters and liability letters. Woohoo! Problem is, after writing these types of letters, the violation codes automatically gets memorized in my brain. Uh-oh! I don't have that much memory space in my CPU (aka "my brain"). LOL!

Well, it's finally Friday! Yay! I just hope I don't have any problems calling a cab after work. I walked home from work on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I called a different cab company and the driver was f*ckin' crazy. I got dropped off at Ralph's and I walked home because I didn't want to call them again after I was done grocery shopping. Yesterday, I left 10 minutes early so I didn't have any problems. Today, I'm getting off my regular time, which is 5:30pm. I hope I don't get any more BS.

It's 12:10pm and I don't know what I want to eat for lunch. I lost my appetite this morning because I finally went on the scale. I gained 9 pounds!!! OMFG... Everybody's talking about P90X. Should I give that a try?

Does everyone you know talk about P90X all the time?
Are you doing P90X?
If so, would you recommend others to do it? Why or why not?

Coffee = $$$

Oh wow... These days I've been spending a lot of money!
  • Cab ride to/from work = RT $6
  • Double caffe mocha in the morning = $2.95
  • Double caffe mocha in the afternoon = $2.95
Yesterday, I had 2 double caffe mocha while working and an iced white chocolate mocha after dinner. On Monday, I had 1 double caffe mocha, 1 medium iced mocha, and 1 tall white chocolate mocha. Someone bought me the tall white chocolate mocha from Starbucks on Monday since I paid for dinner. I don't even think coffee/caffeine is working for me. Ugh... I'm so tired! I need a day to sleep in! I wish it was Friday today so I can sleep in tomorrow. Oh well... I can't really sleep in this Saturday because it's my coworker's wedding. Well, the wedding starts at 12 noon but I need time to get myself and my daughter ready. I think we'll eat a light brunch before going. I hear a little voice telling me "you can sleep when you're dead!". LMAO! Happy Hump Day, my lovely readers!!!
